CREAM OF TOMATO SOUP RECIPE

- 3 cups stewed or canned tomatoes
- 2 tbsp Sugar
- 1/4 tsp Pepper
- 2 tbsp Onion, chopped
- 2 whole cloves (if desired)
- 1 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1 tbsp Butter
- 1 1/2 tbsp Flour
- 1 1/3 cup Milk
- 1/4 tsp Soda
Cook tomatoes, sugar, pepper, onion, cloves and salt together for 15 minutes.
Put through a sive.
Melt butter, add flour and mix well.
Add milk slowly and bring to the boiling point, stirring constantly.
Add sode to tomatoes and stir until dissolved.
Pour tomato juice into the white sauce, and serve immeditaley with crackers
Suggestion: The secret of making tomato soup is to remove both tomato mix and milk from fire and combine immediately.
