AEBLESKIVER RECIPE

  • 3 Eggs (separated)
  • 2 cups Buttermilk
  • 2 cups Flour (sifted)
  • 1 tsp Baking Powder (rounded)
  • 1 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 2 tsp Shortening, melted (or oil)
  • 1 tsp sugar

Whip egg yolks and salt and sugar.

Sift flour, baking powder and soda.

Add Buttermilk and flour alternately to egg yolks until smooth.

Add Melted Shortening.

Lastely add whipped egg whites - fold in.

Put 1 tbsp vegetable oil in the bottom of each pan cup and heat until hot. Pour in 2 tbsp of batter in each cup. Turn quickly as they bubble. Continue cooking, turning the ball to keep it from burning.
